THE STORY OF A CHRISTMAS TREE

A couple weeks ago, at the beginning of December, we started getting ready for Christmas.

Here is our beautiful Christmas tree. :)

By the way, the type is small because it's supposed to be a caption for the above picture (I don't know how to get it otherwise!).

Since I don't have many pictures from the actual getting of our Christmas tree, I want to write about it. :) So here we go.

Something you must know about our family is that we are very particular about the tree we get. VERY particular. We always look for the best shaped tree; it can not be to spindly, or to fat. it can not have any "holes" where the branches are thinned out. It can't be to tall, but it must never be to short (it must be at least 2 feet taller than my dad, who is 6 feet tall), etc. This year it actually took shorter than normal to find one, I think... we were only looking at trees for maybe 45 minutes, but did we ever get a keeper! We all agree that this tree is the best since 2007, or around there... :)

Anyway, the process of picking out a tree for us typically looks like this: we get down to the Frasier Fir field, and immediately everyone spreads out to look for possible trees. Normally, someone will yell after the first 5 minutes, "I found one! Daddy come look at it!", and then my dad (and everyone else) will go look at it. This goes on for several minutes. :) This year we got organized, and my dad told everyone to go find a tree they thought was the best one, and we would look at everyone's tree. I don't think we even found our tree that way. :) I was wheeling Jude around in his stroller when I hear my family saying, "this is the one!" Steering the stroller carefully around stumps, I finally make it to the tree my family has picked out. No say on my part, whatsoever. :) Kidding. Of course, I liked it. It fit all of this Berry family's qualifications. :) We brought it home and put it up, etc. etc. etc.

Thank you very much for taking time to read my ramblings about getting our tree. And not minding my excessive use of smiley faces. :)

One more thing; a sickness has been going around, and Jude has a fever. :( I am also not feeling well, and the whole family is generally feeling "under the weather". Please pray that we would get well! Thanks,

-Sarah :)
